In may 2009 Abyss carried out a thruster change of the drilling rig Stena Dons during its stay at
Vestbase in Kristiansund. The thruster change operation was completed in one day. Abyss also
carried out an In-water survey/bottom survey of the rig, and changed the complete set of
anodes for all thrusters. These operations were carried out during five days.
Stena Don is a dynamically positioned (class 3), harsh environment semi-submersible drilling,
completion and workover vessel for worldwide operations.
It has 6 x Kameva Aqua Master Azimuth Thrusters.
